Susan Lewis heads our Family
Law Department and practices exclusively in Family Law. She is not only a
specialist in Family Law but approaches cases in a sympathetic yet firm
manner. She is a member of Resolution which is an organisation
that promotes fair and conciliatory solutions to problems arising out of
family breakdown. As a member of Resolution she subscribes to their code
of conduct.
Susan is also a member of the Law Society’s Children and Family Law
Panels, which means that the Law Society has recognised her as a
specialist in Children’s and Family Law.
Susan is also fully trained in collaborative Law. This is a process enabling
parties on relationship breakdown to discuss and resolve issues through
face to face meetings without formal application to the Court.
The Department maintains links with other local services such as Citizens
Advice Bureaux, Domestic
Violence Services, Contact Centres and Relate.
The Department has a Legal Services Franchise which means that we have the
quality assurance mark of the Legal Services Commission and are able to
grant emergency public funding to clients, when necessary.For further information,
